Chaplaincy
The school offers a chaplaincy program that is faithful to the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church. Furthermore, the school strives to live according to the example of Jesus, supported by devotion to His Mother Mary.
Philosophically, faculty and staff believe that the Catholic faith is not merely something to be studied in religion classes. Rather, students are taught to integrate their faith into their everyday lives. The chaplaincy program supports and encourages the boys to live a life of prayer as well as one that is sacramentally sound. To support the faith development of our boys, the chaplaincy program includes the following:
HOLY MASS:
Offered twice weekly by various diocesan and religious priests.
ALTAR SERVING:
Students from grades 4-8 volunteer to serve at the altar during Mass.
SACRAMENT OF CONFESSION:
Offered twice weekly on Mass days.
PRAYER:
Morning prayer at school assemblies, Angelus at mid-day, and other prayers throughout the year, including the Rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet.
EUCHARISTIC ADORATION AND BENEDICTION:
Once per term.
COMMUNITY SERVICE:
There are various service opportunities for students of all ages to put their faith into practice and live out the works of mercy, including Bake Sales for Mary's Meals and Fred Victor, Food Drive for Canadian Food for Children and the Sisters of Life Christmas Baskets program.
