About Junior School
We believe that when boys feel that they belong, they are able to achieve success in all areas of school life: academics, athletics, social, spiritual and moral growth. Our small size allows us to offer our boys a learning environment that enriches their lives. This is done through a well-rounded education that includes a wonderful blend of academics, the arts, athletics and hands on earning. We offer enriched academics, a truly caring staff and a host of inspirational learning experiences; however, most importantly, we offer your son the guarantee that he will “grow in a truly safe and caring atmosphere”. Junior School Curriculum
We have a dynamic, evolving curriculum in the Junior School at Northmount School. We work hard at documenting the specific outcomes for each grade level. These outcomes are coordinated from grade to grade so that students meet particular skills at times appropriate for their age. Our learning outcomes comply with, and often surpass, the Ontario Ministry of Education documents. The primary focus of the Junior School Curriculum is for boys to develop a love of learning and very solid beginning academic, athletic, artistic, social and spiritual qualities. The Junior School has an energetic and talented group of teachers who strive to individualize their instruction and their programs. Teachers will enrich student learning as well as provide additional help and encouragement when it is needed. As a result, we are able to offer a challenging program for all. It is so well developed that by the end of Senior kindergarten our boys will read and write and do mathematics at a Grade One standard, setting them well on the path towards academic success.
