Comprehensive and Challenging Program of Learning
At the heart of a Northmount education is the achievement of excellence in academics. Graduating a well-rounded young man demands a well-rounded education.  Northmount is committed to a balanced program of academics, athletics and the arts that educates the whole person - mind, body and spirit. From kindergarten to grade five we develop his growing powers of observation and memory in order to master the essential skills and knowledge in reading, writing, listening, mathematics, science, socials science, music, computer studies, health and physical education, art, and French. From grades six to eight, the boys put these tools to effective use by means of well-honed study skills, critical thinking skills and creative approaches to common problems.

A Northmount student accomplishes two goals. First, he learns to think for himself, analyzing information, arguments and claims. This also involves creatively proposing and testing suitable solutions to questions and problems. However, the ability to think for himself is compromised if he cannot express his thoughts.  Therefore, his second goal is to learn to express himself in a confident, persuasive and correct way. We know that a love of language and a flair for its use is a gift that lasts a lifetime.
