The Junior School comprises Junior Kindergarten, Senior Kindergarten and Grade One. Junior School students at Northmount share fully in the life of the school, interacting with older students in assemblies, some sports, and in all house activities and competitions. All students belong to one of three houses, and each house has boys from every grade. The younger boys learn quickly to regard the older students as big brothers and in many cases as mentors.

The Junior School academic program centers on developing early proficiency in Language Arts and Mathematics with the core teacher. We believe that young students learn best when learning is fun. Our program help students to quickly develop fine motor skills and the ability to focus. They consolidate their learning through activities such as structure building and other pursuits which appeal to boys.
We familiarize our students with a range of disciplines and teachers, and they quickly develop the ability to adapt to different teaching styles and becoming motivated, confident learners.
