Information Technology 

Northmount's Information Technology program is one of the most advanced and comprehensive in the city. Our faculty and students are connected to a network and the Internet utilizing the latest server technology from Apple. Our Apple X-Server facilitates a wide range of activities from a high speed, content secure, Internet connection, a guaranteed 100% performance rate, and the creation of multi-media productions. Our computer environment is a hybrid of PC and Apple computers.

 

 


We have a dedicated lab of 18 PCs that feature Microsoft XP Pro.   Every student has his own dedicated computer.  Academically, exposure to I.T. begins in Kindergarten with some intermittent visits to the lab. The frequency of usage through integration in other courses increases up until the fifth grade.

A graduated curriculum entailing design, ethics, proficiency, theory, and programming commences in the fifth grade and finishes in the eighth grade providing students with an advanced breadth of skills enabling them to reach a level of proficiency that most students at other schools reach only in their high school experience.
