Curriculum

There is a distinctive spirit at Northmount that is nurtured by our devoted faculty, our academic program, our close relationship with our parents and our focus on educating for character.

Our boys profit from individual attention in small classes, becoming confident learners who enjoy an accelerated curriculum.

We are committed to a vibrant program of learning experiences outside the classoom. Our students always look forward to the next field trip camping trip or extended excursion. Wednesday clubs provide a weekly time for trying a new sport or hobby.

Boys and girls learn differently.
Everything at Northmount, from the pacing of
lessons to the choice of textbooks, is tailored to the learning styles of boys.

Learning That Engages Boys
An emerging body of research is confirming what many parents have long suspected: younger boys are often at an academic and social disadvantage in a co-educational classroom. They can lose confidence in their abilities and disengage form the learning process.

We specialize in educating boys. In a single-gender environment they are free to be true to themselves in work and play. We recognize they are both physically exuberant and sensitive, both competitive and considerate. Free from gender-based pressures, our studetns explore new possibilities and new roles among their classmates.
